Application

45 steel is used in hot- and cold-rolled flat and rolled products and forgings that then go on to be used in metal structures and machine-building components of various shapes and sizes. 45 structural steel has a wide range of uses in spindles, advancing cams, gear wheels, fastenings and various axle types. This steel is used for vital components (cantilever constructions, shafts, bars, beams, plungers, etc.) which are heat-treated to increase their strength.

Welding

45 steel is difficult to weld. To achieve a high-quality welded seam, the product must be heated to +200-300°С before welding, then heat-treated (annealed) afterwards.
