Characteristics of 10-brand steel

10 steel is a high-grade structural carbon steel used in ductile components and structures used in temperatures to +350°С. Hot-rolled and forged long products made from 10 steel conform to the DSTU 7809 and GOST 1050 standards, the chemical composition according to these standards applies to other types of rental

Classification: High-grade structural carbon steel.

Product: Sheet steel, rolled products, including shaped.

Application

10 steel is widely used due to its low cost and high usability. It is found in flat products for cold-forging; components requiring high ductility and preservation of characteristics at temperatures up to +350°С; components that have been thermo-chemically treated with high surface hardness and durability (bushings, screws etc); arc-welded pipes for tubular electric heaters and certain mechanical devices; seamless cold-sized tubes for boilers; oil and steam heaters; the main layer in hot-rolled dual-layer corrosion-resistant sheets; and hydraulic pipes for automobiles, combine harvesters, tractors, fridges, etc.

Welding

10 steel possesses excellent characteristics for manual-arc, automatic-arc, and spot welding. However, these methods are not appropriate for components that have undergone thermo-chemical treatment, as they have very low welding capacity.
