Metinvest Group has received two awards at the International Brilliance Awards, recognising its veteran reintegration ecosystem and its comprehensive programme for developing and retaining talent at its overseas operations. The winners were announced on 22 January in London.

The International Brilliance Awards are among the most prestigious professional accolades in the fields of business achievement, human resources, people management, team development, marketing, internal communications and PR, among others. The awards have been held annually since 2014 and are open to companies, start-ups and non-profit organisations worldwide.

The projects are evaluated by an independent international jury comprising leading experts, industry leaders and practitioners. The jury places particular emphasis on the real impact of initiatives on people, the sustainability of solutions and businesses’ responsibility to society.

Support for war veterans in Ukraine

Metinvest’s veteran reintegration ecosystem received the highest honour: the Brilliance Award in the Corporate Wellbeing category.

The ecosystem is built on the principles of responsibility, a systematic approach and internal fairness, and encompasses five core areas. These are psychological and physical rehabilitation; social support; professional adaptation, retraining and upskilling; preparing team leaders and managers for the return of demobilised colleagues; and support for mobilised employees and their family members.

Since the start of the war, around 11,000 Metinvest employees have joined the defence forces of Ukraine. Nearly 1,000 defenders have already returned to work at the Group’s operations, and in recent months more than 100 demobilised veterans have rejoined the Metinvest team.

Talent development at international operations

Metinvest’s comprehensive talent development and retention programme across its international operations received a Silver Award in the Engagement and Retention category.

The Group places a strong emphasis on building a robust talent pipeline. The programme focuses on unlocking employees’ potential, developing future leaders and strengthening international collaboration. Through training initiatives, mentoring, knowledge exchange and long-term career planning, Metinvest invests in its people, enabling them to grow alongside the Group regardless of country or market.

Following the programme’s launch, employee turnover across Metinvest decreased by 2.2%, particularly among middle management and high-potential employees. At the same time, 20% of participants became involved in Group-wide strategic projects, while 10% received promotions.

Tetiana Petruk, director of sustainability and employee engagement at the Group, said: “This is a landmark achievement for Metinvest. Receiving international recognition on such a prestigious platform is a great honour and clear confirmation that our people-centric approach is not just a slogan, but a real day-to-day practice. Once again, our team has demonstrated that it is possible to create projects that deliver genuine value for people.”
