Metinvest Paid UAH 18.7 Billion in Taxes to Ukraine’s Budget in 2025

Metinvest has helped sustain the country’s economy during the nearly four years of the full-scale war. Including associated companies and joint ventures, the Group paid UAH 18.7 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine in 2025.

The largest contribution was the subsoil use fee, totalling UAH 4.6 billion. This was followed by UAH 3.5 billion in unified social contribution payments, with the UAH 3.2 billion paid in personal income tax ranking third.

In addition, Metinvest’s Ukrainian enterprises paid UAH 1.9 billion in corporate income tax and UAH 690 million in environmental tax last year. At the same time, value-added tax increased by 18% year-on-year to nearly UAH 2 billion, land tax rose by 10% to UAH 1.4 billion and the military levy almost tripled to UAH 916 million.

“The war and global challenges have changed the business landscape and forced us to operate in new ways. However, steelmaking retains its strategic role: it continues to support the economy, generate foreign currency revenues and contribute to the state budget. As the largest company in the sector, Metinvest continues to operate, support the regions and assist the army. And we will not stop — because we believe in Ukraine and are working for its future,” Yuriy Ryzhenkov, chief executive officer of Metinvest Group, said.

By way of background, in 2024 Metinvest paid UAH 19.8 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine. Overall, the Group has paid nearly UAH 74 billion to support the country’s economy since the full-scale invasion.
