In addition, Metinvest Group has decided to temporarily reassign the employees of its Mariupol plants, Ilyich Steel and Azovstal, who are not involved in the maintenance of production facilities while operations are suspended, to their homes. Wages for the downtime will be paid in full.
As was previously reported, on 24 February, Metinvest Group put some of the equipment of Ilyich Steel and Azovstal in suspension mode for seven days. Further operational decisions will be made as the situation develops.
Metinvest enterprises are well-protected places with shelters having sufficient emergency supplies, medicines and equipment. Should the situation deteriorate, immediate supervisors will instruct employees to proceed to their shelters.
