Krasnodon Coal’s Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine is reconnected to electricity

Metinvest Group Krasnodon Coal’s Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine is operating as usual as of the second shift on August 19. Coal mining and excavations are in progress. Daily targets are being achieved.

Specialists have been working for two days to restore electricity transmission lines and transformer substation. When the situation with the electricity supply was stabilized, Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya resumed operations. Krasnodon Coal’s employees are completing the construction of an emergency warehouse to store mined coal.

The first and second shifts are engaged in coal mining and excavation, and the third and fourth shifts will work to maintain the mine’s facilities that are in operation.

The Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine was cut off from electricity supplies on August 17 as a result of artillery shelling.

At the same time, the situation remains extremely tense. The armed conflict is still ongoing near where the mine is located in the area of the Novohannivka, Khryaschuvate and Novosvitlivka settlements.
