Metinvest handed over 18,000 coronavirus tests to health workers in three regions of Ukraine

Metinvest Group continues to provide the cities where the company operates with the means to combat the spread of coronavirus. Metinvest, jointly with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Vadym Novynskiy's International Charitable Foundation, handed over 18,000 rapid COVID-19 tests to the doctors of the Donetsk, Zaporozhskaya and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The rapid test is the fastest way to diagnose COVID-19. It is based on the search of antibodies in the blood of human that are secreted by the body as a reaction to infection with the virus.  The result becomes known in 15 minutes.

Medical institutions in the Donetsk region received 8,500 such test systems, Zaporizhya region - 4,000 systems, and Dnipropetrovsk region received 5,500 systems. Should it be necessary, the residents of Mariupol, Pokrovske, Avdiivka, Zaporizhya, Dniprorudny, Kryviy Rih and Kamenske will be able to be tested.

In Mariupol, rapid tests will be delivered to the emergency hospital, they will also be distributed to five primary health care centers, to city hospitals No. 1 and No. 4.

Residents of Pokrovske will be able to take advantage of rapid diagnosis in the district and city centers of primary health care and in the Pokrovske Clinical Hospital of Intensive Care.

In Avdiivka, the tests will be taken by the central city hospital and the health unit of Avdiivka Coke.

The test systems will be distributed among nine city hospitals, the emergency care hospital, two children's hospitals, three maternity hospitals and eight primary health care centres. A multidisciplinary city hospital will receive tests in Dniprorudny.

In Kryviy Rih, it will become easier to determine the disease in five city hospitals, including children's hospitals. City hospital No. 9 and Kamenske Primary Health Care Center No. 3 will also receive test systems.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation together with Metinvest Group has handed over 300,000 rapid tests for coronavirus to Donetsk, Zaporizhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Luhansk and Kyiv regions. In addition, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation purchased and transferred high-quality ventilators and oxygen concentrators to the Ministry of Health. The Foundation has also purchased personal protective equipment for Ukrainian health workers: unique isolation mobile box for transportation of contagious patients, biological and chemical protection suit with filter ventilator unit, disposable protective combination suits, infrared thermometers with laser pointer, multi-layered respirators, protective masks and goggles. Another 22 ventilators were installed in neonatal ambulances, transferred by the Foundation to all regions of the country under the "200 ambulances for Ukraine" project. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation also buys coronavirus sample analysers complete with test cartridges for them.

Further, Vadym Novynskiy's International Charitable Foundation handed over 1 million medical masks, 100,000 express test kits, 10 ventilators, 10 infection chambers and 850 biosafety suits, 1,000 goggles for doctors and 3 diagnostic PCR systems with disposable test kits.
