Application

Galvanised steel is widely used in a variety of products. It is often used in facade and roofing materials for the construction industry, including flue pipes, corrugated boards, guttering and all systems that are exposed to high levels of moisture. It is also used in agricultural equipment for granaries and barns.

Welding

Galvanised steel is ideally suited to laser welding, which is distinguished by its narrow seams (just a few millimetres) and low heat input. Any type of fusion welding necessitates minimising the area of galvanised-steel plate exposed to heat and subsequent heat input. Like scratched surfaces, sections with beading welds are protected against cathodic corrosion by their zinc-coating. Nonetheless, it is advisable to paint or otherwise apply protective coatings to welded sections.
