Characteristics of 10KhSND-brand steel

10KhSND is a low-alloy structural steel used in high-strength, corrosion-resistant welded metal structures. It conforms to the DSTU 8817, GOST 6713, DSTU 8541, and GOST 19281 standards.

Classification: Low-alloy structural steel for weld-fabricated structures.

Product: Thick-plate, wide-strip, flat, rolled and shaped products.

Application

10KhSND steel is widely used in the construction industry in various structures (load-bearing arches and elements) and bridge metal structures, both standard and northern. For machine-building, hot-rolled and thermally treated steel is used in diggers, bulldozers, excavators, hydraulic shears and operating components of agricultural equipment. In its post- quenching and tempering state, 10KhSND is used in pipeline valves and other components for gas and oil trunk lines.

 

Welding

10KhSND steel can be freely welded using manual-arc, automatic-arc submerged gas-protected and electroslag welding. The steel is not susceptible to brittleness from tempering, and its weld seams are not subject to cracking.
