Worldskills Ukraine is a part of Worldskills International, also called Olympics for the students of vocational and technical schools, university students and workers aged 18-22.
The competition is held in two rounds: Qualifying and Final. In Zaporizhya region, qualifying rounds will be held on October 24-26 in Zaporizhye, on November 6-8 in Kryvyi Rih for in Dnipropetrovsk region, and in Donetsk region on November 13-15 in Mariupol. The jury will assess the competitors' skills in maintenance of railway transport, welding, electrical, plumbing and turning operations, shipping, water technologies, operating heavy machinery, brickwork, culinary and pastry arts.
The competition is held for the professional orientation of youth and the introduction of the best international practices into the Ukrainian education system. The competitors will demonstrate their professional skills, performing practical tasks in a limited time.
The competition is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Institute for the Modernization of Education, the Federation of Employers of Ukraine with the support of the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine and the Ukrmetallurgprom association.
Worldskills International was founded in 1953. This is the largest skills competition globally: the competition is held in 74 countries. Ukraine has been a member of Worldskills International since 2016. The jury consists of well-known experts and leading professionals in their industries.
