This was said by the general director of Metinvest-SMC Dmitry Lyppa at the 5th National Steel Construction Conference on December, 13 in Kyiv.
Metinvest enterprises continuously develop new products that help steel structure manufacturers develop internal consumption and increase the export of steel products.
On the initiative of the Ukrainian Steel Construction Center (USCC), the company has extended its list of goods with dual certification this year, which allows to use the same steel grade for exports and domestic orders. Apart from steel plates, dual certification is now available for coils, equal-flange angles, and pipes.
According to the USCC outlook, the capacity of steel structure market in Ukraine will grow 6% in 2016, y-o-y, to 69 ths. t, of which 64 ths. t are accounted for by Ukrainian steel structures. During the three quarters of this year, 7 ths. t of steel structures were exported from Ukraine.
Metinvest also develops the production of galvanized coils from new steel grades DX51D-DX52D and S220GD-S350GD according to the European standards. These products are intended for the construction industry. Enterprises specializing in the manufacture of corrugated material export goods that are made from Metinvest galvanized steel to Poland.
According to USCC, the consumption of galvanized steel in Ukraine will grow 17% in 2016, y-o-y, and will amount to 277.3 ths. t.
Dmytry Lyppa the general director of Metinvest-SMC:
- We launched regular supply of galvanized rolled steel that meets all requirements of Euronorms. The Ukrainian clients, in turn, actively develop sales of galvanized goods in the EU market. In the past, Metinvest was focused on the domestic market of Ukraine, and the CIS, whereas now our coils are supplied to Poland and other countries of the European Union.
The Annual National Steel Construction Conference took place in Kyiv for the fifth time. It was organized by the Ukrainian Steel Construction Center (USCC) with Metinvest as the general partner.
The event brought together 270 lead manufacturers of steel structures, steel roof and façade systems, rolled steel producers and distributors, designer, developers, and industry experts. The participants discussed the administrative regulation of the construction market, development of steel construction market, and trends in the construction industry.
